The Lemonade Diet

Now before you think: “Wonderful news! I can drink lemonade all day and drop a dress size.” Allow me to tell you why this is no ordinary lemonade and why this particular diet is far greater than just another get-slim-quick trick!

lemonade-diet-cleanseOtherwise know as the Master Cleanser, the Lemonade Diet is primarily aimed at eliminating toxins from the body rather than losing weight (even though this can be expected as detoxification occurs). 

Originally developed in the 1940s by Naturopath Stanley Burrough, the Master Cleanser is still one of the best known methods for cleaning out your intestinal and colon walls, as well as detoxifying all your organs. Regular meals are replaced with a special lemonade mixture, allowing the hard work of digestion and absorption to be reduced while at the same time, enhancing the processes of cellular waste removal and elimination. 

It is a simple liquid fast that consists of drinking 6 to 8 glasses a day of lemonade, together with the daily inclusion of a herbal laxative tea and salt water drink. To get that vibrant look for a wedding or big function, one can do the cleanse for a day or even 3! However, for the best results, Burroughs recommends that people go on the diet for at least 10 days, with the maximum duration being 40 days. 

This particular lemonade provides a broad array of vitamins and minerals (unlike the kind you buy in a can!) concentrated in a mixture of organic lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, water, and a little cayenne pepper. Lemons are considered an alkalising and healing food while the maple syrup is a rich source of minerals, boosting both physical and mental energy. Cayenne pepper increases metabolism and helps break up mucous. It also acts a cleanser for the digestive, respiratory, and circulatory systems.

lemonadedietProbably the most important part of the Master Cleanse is when you decide to come off. You have to go slow and introduce solid foods gradually. The first and second day after you complete the lemonade diet, you should have only fresh orange juice. Drink as much water in between as required. On the third day have fresh orange juice in the morning. Afternoon lunch should consist of a little fresh and raw fruits. At night have a raw vegetable salad. The next morning have a fresh orange juice. Lunch should be a little soup made out of fresh vegetables. Have the same soup for dinner. You are now ready to eat normally!

The Lemonade Diet is natural and relatively simple to do. People feel revitalised, with many individuals experiencing drastic and positive changes in their bodies including normal blood pressure, skin elasticity and healthy appearance, faster illnesses recovery, healthy weight loss and a better digestive process. The diet is unique in that it offers more than just reducing weight, it helps you clean and detoxify your body at the same time.
